Large-Scale Human Activity Recognition Using Ultra-Dense Sensing
نویسنده
چکیده
Introduction The ability to build computing systems that can observe, understand and act on day-today physical human activity has long been a goal of computing research. Such systems could have profound conceptual and practical implications. Since the ability to reason and act based on activity is one of the central aspects of human intelligence, from a conceptual viewpoint such a system could cast light on computational models of intelligence. More tangibly, perhaps, machines that reason about human activity could aid humans in aspects of their lives that are today considered outside the domain of machines.

Toward Nanometer-Scale sensing Systems - Natural and Artificial Noses as Models for Ultra-Small, Ultra Dense Sensing Systems
The development of highly sensitive, selective, reliable, and compact sensing systems to detect toxic chemical and biological agents is of great importance to national security. This paper examines the best such naturally occurring sensing system, the sense of smell or " olfaction, " as well as artificial sensing systems built to emulate the nose. The goal is to combine lessons learned from nat...
متن کاملTowards physical intrusion detection method based on machine learning and context-aware activity recognition in real-time
Sensor-based human activity recognition is getting increasingly popular in various applications. Most of the related work within dense-sensing based approaches assume that large number of different multimodal sensors are placed on the objects in the environment (which is rarely the case in today’s real life home environments), that sensor data is not processed in real-time and that activity to ...

Abstract Decadal changes in land use/land cover for Balachaur watershed in Nawanshahar district, Punjab, India were studied using black and white aerial photographs for March 1984 on approximately 1:20,000 scale and multidate geocoded false colour composites (FCC) of IRS-1D LISS-III on 1:50,000 scale for March 2002, September 2002, and May 2003 and interpreted visually to prepare land use/land...
متن کاملAccess control in ultra-large-scale systems using a data-centric middleware
The primary characteristic of an Ultra-Large-Scale (ULS) system is ultra-large size on any related dimension. A ULS system is generally considered as a system-of-systems with heterogeneous nodes and autonomous domains. As the size of a system-of-systems grows, and interoperability demand between sub-systems is increased, achieving more scalable and dynamic access control system becomes an im...

Ultra-wideband radar-based penetrating detection and recognition of human activities has become a focus on remote sensing in various military applications in recent years, such as urban warfare, hostage rescue, and earthquake post-disaster rescue. However, an excellent micro-Doppler signature (MDS) extracting method of human motion with high time-frequency resolution, outstanding anti-interfere...
